Nick's interest in research began during his undergraduate years at USD.

After receiving his undergraduate degrees in Chemistry and Spanish in 2015, Nick was accepted into the MD/PhD program at the Sanford School of Medicine and joined Dr. Sathyanesan’s lab. His primary research interests lie in neuroscience, biochemistry, and cellular signaling. Nick's current work combines computational and experimental methods to improve understanding of erythropoietin and its function in non-hematologic applications.
